I had been wishing to grow my hair and donate it for a couple of years. But Bombay’s humidity felt too taxing. So, when the lockdown was announced, I decided to grow it out. Because neither do I have to care extensively for it, style it nor be bothered. Hair grows on its own. You literally have nothing to do. (That’s one reason why I think there’s nothing too noble about donating hair). After exactly 18 months and about 14 inches later, I was ready to chop it – this time, with intent. I hope this makes somewhere someone smile. Short hair is a phase. Long hair is a phase. With the intention of hair donation, we can enjoy both a lot more.
