The Gita says: Any kind of donation/help given out of duty, without expectation of return or fruit, at the proper time and place, to a worthy person and for a noble cause is considered to be in the mode of goodness. The mode of goodness is better than the modes of passion and ignorance. Selfish action imprisons the world. Act selflessly, without any thought of personal profit.
