Two years ago I was going through a rough patch in my life. I was in deep depression. I couldn’t take care of my health. My hair was a mess. On one ordinary, gloomy day, when I didn’t have the energy to get out of bed, I decided to end my suffering right there. I decided to take my life in my own hands. The first thing I did was go to the parlor and cut my hair short. That is how I always liked it. I was no longer confirming to what others thinking or how pretty I seemed to them with long hair. Seeing my locks on the ground, in the dirt, I was reminded of all the effort I had put in nurturing them and how lucky I was that I had the privilege of healthy, beautiful hair. The best way to uplift oneself is through uplifting others and that is what I want to do today. Since that hair cut, for two years I have grown my hair, to be able to help someone feel better about themselves. I measured my hair every month to check if they are long enough. Today, after exactly two years, my hair is finally ready to fulfill my wish. I hope they bring as much joy to the new bearer as they did to me.
